European Traditional Kitchen Remodel

At Hometech Renovations, Inc. we have many years of experience in kitchen remodeling projects in Bucks County and surrounding areas. Among our kitchen remodels, we have completed a variety of different design styles. One of them was a home in Doylestown, Pa where we took a European traditional approach.

When trying to recreate the traditional European look in a kitchen, the main focus is cabinetry. In our kitchen remodeling project in Bucks County we installed panel cherry glazed custom kitchen cabinets that featured an integrated wood mantle style hood. In a European traditionally designed kitchen you will not find any flat panels on cabinetry. Panels, drawer fronts and doors usually have some sort of detailing or edging. Our kitchen remodel had multi-dimensional kitchen cabinetry with an apothecary cabinet providing the perfect visual when entering the room. We also integrated raised end panels on the kitchen cabinet sides to reflect a richer, more complete look.

Some homeowners may choose to go with bold-colored cabinetry in their European traditional kitchens. Strong colors like bright blues and yellows help to accent the neutral colored appliances and backsplashes. Either way, this style of kitchen traditionally has a painted finish on all of the cabinetry.

As for countertops in a traditional European kitchen remodel the most commonly used material is granite. Dark colored granites are often installed to contrast the brightly colored rooms, while light colored granites are used in neutral colored rooms. In our kitchen remodeling project we installed light gray colored countertops to contrast the green walls.

A huge part of a European traditional kitchen is the focus on tiled backsplash. A neutral colored tile is normally installed behind appliances to bring a fresh new look into the room. A few decorative tiles combined with the neutral ones will give your kitchen a unique style. In our kitchen remodeling project we installed handmade tile plaques behind the 60” Wolf range to create a truly one-of-a-kind design. Our knowledgeable and experienced designer can help decide what unique tiling would be perfect for your space.

Lighting in a European traditional kitchen are usually timeless, elegant fixtures that provide a certain amount of ambiance to the room. In our kitchen remodeling project we installed soffit lighting behind the crown molding and schoolhouse hanging pendants over the island to add to the period styling.
